2011 Oak Bluffs Challenge - IGFA Qualifying Event

Castafari presents the 2011 OAK BLUFFS CHALLENGE hosted by Nancy’s Restaurant and Oak Bluffs Marina to bring New England a world class bluewater fishing event which will take place September 15 through 18, 2011. The FIRST ANNUAL 2011 OAK BLUFFS CHALLENGE will be open to the public, catering to all fishing enthusiasts with vessels that have the range to fish in the vicinity of northeast canyons. The bluewater fishing south of Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket Island rivals big game fishing anywhere around the world. We chose the middle of September because there is a much better chance for a productive night fishery for tuna and broadbill swordfish by then. This event will encompass an overnight adventure, allowing entrants to fish for two straight days before returning to the dock!

Our goal is to create an exciting tournament atmosphere which all offshore canyon fishermen in the northeast will want to be a part of. This event will involve big cash calcutta prizes, live musical entertainment, great food, and some world class bluewater fishing. Castafari will be working around the clock to align this event with reputable industry sponsors who will donating prizes and contributing to the tournament captains bags provided to each registered vessel. Participants can expect top quality captains bags for all vessels, quality served meals Thursday and Sunday, live musical entertainment, raffled prizes, top quality trophies and awards, tournament marine biologists on hand, high spectacle weigh station, tournament results and images posted online in real time, rock solid rules and regulations format, strictly enforced sportsmanship, high stakes fishing competition, extremely organized Calcuttas, top notch marina hospitality and slip accommodations, ice in any quantity delivered to your slip, top quality ballyhoo in any quantity delivered to your slip, on-site fuel(gas or diesel), discounted accommodations available at the Wesley Hotel, on-site market for provisions and alcohol, and hospitable tournament staff.

REFUND: Since canyon fishing is entirely dependent on weather, Castafari Inc. has established a "bail out" plan in case the tournament is cancelled at the last minute due to bad weather. Nancy's and OB Marina have all agreed to work with me on this. The decision to cancel the event will be made on or before September 14th, 2011. If you'’re interested in fishing this event, there's absolutely no reason to wait. If the tournament is cancelled, all registered entrants will receive the following:

• OB Marina will hold only 1 day of dockage deposit which can be used any time until 9/30/12.
• Full refund on entry fee minus a 20% administrative cost (captains bags, apparel, t-shirts, staff).
• All entrants will receive a captains bag to be shipped to the address on the registration form. The captains bag value will be greater than the money kept to provide it.
